Diabetes affects 26 million Americans and pre-diabetes affects another 79 million Americans. In a continued effort to improve and prevent such statistics, the Greene County Medical Center Diabetes Management staff are offering two “Diabetes 101” courses in June. Sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, at 1:30 pm at the Churdan library, and Thursday, June 26, at 2 pm at the Grand Junction library.
An overview of diabetes — Type 1, Type 2 and pre-diabetes – will be the focus of the sessions. Risk factors, symptoms, complications, treatments and the economic burden associated with diabetes will be shared.
The sessions are free and open to the general public. Anyone with pre-diabetes or diabetes, or a family history of diabetes is encouraged to attend.
